Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and LoveVow (“we”, “us” or “our”) about your use of the LoveVow iOS app for couples. By creating an account or using LoveVow, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use LoveVow.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Who can use LoveVow

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 where that is the minimum age in your country, to use LoveVow. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you may only use LoveVow with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You must not use LoveVow if the law prevents you from doing so.

2. Your account

  • You sign in with Apple or Google. Please keep your device and sign-in account secure.
  • You’re responsible for what happens in your account, and for giving us accurate information.
  • Each account is for one person. Don’t share it or use someone else’s.
  • If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us straight away.

3. Pairing and shared content

LoveVow is designed for two partners. When you pair with a partner, some of your content is shared with them, as described in the app and our Privacy Policy.

  • Only pair with someone you know and trust, who wants to pair with you.
  • Anything you share can be seen by your partner, who may keep their own copy of it (for example, by taking a screenshot).
  • If you unpair, your shared history stays saved for both of you. If you delete your account, the content you created is removed, including content you shared with your partner.

Acceptable use

When using LoveVow, you agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, pressure, monitor or control another person;
  • share content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful or sexually exploits anyone, or content involving a minor in any sexual context;
  • share another person’s private information or intimate images without their consent;
  • impersonate anyone, or pair with someone without their consent;
  • infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • try to access other people’s accounts or data, or interfere with, disrupt, scrape or reverse engineer LoveVow, except where the law allows; or
  • use LoveVow for any commercial purpose.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Your content

You own the content you create in LoveVow, such as reflections, voice recordings, love notes, reactions, photos and captions.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, copy and display your content only as needed to provide LoveVow to you and your partner. This includes generating your vows and suggestions. The licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems, including from backups, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to share the content you add to LoveVow.

5. AI-generated vows and suggestions

LoveVow uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to generate your daily vows and to suggest captions and details for moments, based on the information you provide.

  • Vows and suggestions are just that: suggestions. They may occasionally be inaccurate or not right for you.
  • They are not professional advice. LoveVow is not therapy or counselling, and is not a substitute for professional help.
  • Use your own judgement. Don’t do anything that feels unsafe, or that your partner doesn’t want.

If you’re in danger or your relationship involves abuse, please contact your local emergency services or a support organisation.

6. LoveVow Premium

LoveVow is free to start. The free tier includes 3 vow themes. LoveVow Premium unlocks all 30 vow themes, along with any other Premium features we offer from time to time.

Plans and prices

  • Monthly: $9.99 per month, with no free trial.
  • Yearly: $69.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial.

Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by region. The App Store shows the price in your local currency before you buy.

Payment and renewal

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm your purchase, or when your free trial ends.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. If you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Shared with your partner

Premium is shared by both paired partners, so one subscription covers you both while you’re paired.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too, under Apple’s policies. We can’t issue refunds ourselves. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Price changes

We may change Premium prices. Apple will tell you about any change to your subscription price as required by its rules and the law, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

7. Apple and the App Store

LoveVow is licensed to you, not sold. If you downloaded LoveVow from the App Store, your use of it is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) and the App Store’s usage rules. If these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict over your licence to use the app, the Standard EULA applies.

You also acknowledge that:

  • these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for LoveVow or its content;
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for LoveVow;
  • if LoveVow fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for LoveVow;
  • Apple is not responsible for handling any claims about LoveVow, including product liability claims, claims that it doesn’t meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, or claims that it infringes someone’s intellectual property;
  • you’re not located in a country subject to a US government embargo, and you’re not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

8. Changes to LoveVow

We’re always working to improve LoveVow, so we may add, change or remove features. We may also pause the service for maintenance. We aim to keep LoveVow available and working well, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available or free of errors.

9. Ending your use of LoveVow

You can stop using LoveVow at any time, and delete your account in Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an Apple subscription, so please cancel that in your Apple ID settings too.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we need to in order to protect other people or LoveVow, or if the law requires it. Where appropriate, we’ll tell you first.

When your account ends, your right to use LoveVow ends too. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue (such as those on your content, disclaimers, liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers

LoveVow is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We can’t promise any particular outcome for your relationship.

Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have as a consumer that can’t be excluded or limited by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable to you for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or relating to LoveVow or these Terms. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and any loss of data, profits, goodwill or relationships, however caused.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. If you’re a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory laws of the country where you live, and bring proceedings in your local courts.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know in the app or by other appropriate means before they take effect. If you keep using LoveVow after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
